Special Services

Bale Group operate several high specification combined deep suction and jetting units complete with two proficient operators fully trained in Confined Space working and Breathing Apparatus per unit.

Specialists in:

  • Large Catchments cleaning
  • Sewer Networks
  • Tank cleaning
  • Underwater silt removal

The units, known as ‘Flexline's' are some of the most technically advanced units in the industry today, here's why:

Suction to depths of 40 Metres

Using technology that was initially developed for suction at over 300 meters underwater on the North Sea Drilling Rigs, the theory has been modified to fit a 6 wheeled rigid lorry chassis enabling us to reach depths of 40 meters. This is achieved by using 2 pumps as opposed to one pump. The first is a vacuum pump for suction, giving an output of up to 1200 CFM, this provides the lift. The second is a compressor and is used in conjunction with the specifically designed ‘venturi'. The high volume of compressed air is piped to the end of the hose and injected up the suction pipe and it is this combined action that achieves magnificent material lift.

Materials Handled include:

  • Activated carbon
  • Sewage
  • Sand/Silt/Stones
  • Sludges
  • Liquids

Silt build up can also be removed from underwater by using the ‘Venturi' removing the need to drain tanks before cleaning can take place.

Two Jetting Systems

The units are complete with two jetting systems, one operating at 30gpm @ 2,000 PSI and a second operating up to 90gpm@ 2,000 PSI. the jetting systems are kept operating by utilising the volume of the whole tank as the units are fitted with a sliding piston, allowing the unit to arrive on site loaded with 10-12M3 of jetting water. As the water is used, the piston can then be moved forward, allowing the unit to be loaded with 10-12M3 of waste, ready to be taken for disposal.

Quick set-up and dismantle times

A continuous length of 14 meters suction hose is permanently connected to the unit and stored in a cassette system on the roof of the unit. It is deployed literally at a push of a button, saving costly time on the usual connecting and disconnecting of hoses before being able to move. Extra hose can obviously be connected if required.

Silent but deadly

With both pumps and jetting system running, at maximum capacity the noise level is only 74dB, well below the new EU standard of 87dB. The benefits of this are most greatly appreciated when working in built-up areas, close to pedestrians and especially when working at these sites outside normal working hours.

It is has been calculated that the Flexline is approximately 25% more efficient over conventional units due to the above points.

In addition to the Flexline's, Bale Group hold a full range of additional equipment which when connected to the Flexline can not only cut through roots but can cut through concrete and clean walk-through culverts.=

Additional plant is also operated in conjunction with the units such as the ‘Remote Reel' providing jetting of lines which are in places not accessible to lorry, such as fields and narrow lanes. Signage, lighting and guarding can also be supplied for highway working.

All units and additional equipment are available 24hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
