Industrial Cleaner/Driver, Portsmouth

Hours of work:      Full Time hours as required over seven days per week

Reports to:            Industrial Services Supervisor/Manager

Wages:                  Mon-Fri 0600-1800 £10.05 p/h, 1800-2400 £11.00 p/h, 0001-0600 £15.00 p/h

                              Sat £12.50 p/h, Sun £15.00 p/h

General:

To carry out industrial cleaning operations including working within confined spaces.

Main Duties:

  • Carry out cleaning operations to a high standard in accordance with training and Bale Group Ltd H&S procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Dismantle, clean, inspect and re-assemble exhaust systems, funnels and coolers of Naval vessels.
  • Collect liquid waste from customer sites and deliver to approved disposal sites by tanker.
  • Ensure customers are treated with courtesy at all times.
  • Ensure client is informed at all times regarding task and H&S issues.
  • Comply with customer safety and security instructions at all times.
  • To work under own initiative and without supervision.
  • Maintain good timekeeping.
  • Be prepared for flexible working including out of hours work. 
  • Work records, timesheets, and all relevant documentation to be completed weekly and returned to Head Office by Tuesday each week.
  • Comply with Health & Safety requirements, actively seek to improve safety culture and report any H&S issues/accidents/near misses to your line manager immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and ensure roadworthiness of any vehicle under your control.
  • Any other duties as required by line manager, commensurate with the post holder’s level of training and competence.

Full Time, 45 hours per week, generally Monday to Friday but evening and weekend working will be required, for which enhanced rates are paid.

General:

To carry out jetting and cleaning operations including confined space operations using FlexLine HGV jetvac vehicle.

Main Duties:

  • To carry out driving duties and daily defect checks on HGV vehicle in line with VOSA regulations.
  • Carry out jetting and cleaning operations to a high standard in accordance with training and Bale Group Ltd H&S procedures.
  • Ensure customers are treated with courtesy at all times.
  • Ensure client is informed at all times regarding task and H&S issues.
  • To work under own initiative and without supervision.
  • Maintain good timekeeping.
  • Flexible working including out of hours call outs. 
  • Work records, timesheets, and all relevant documentation to be completed weekly and returned to head office by no later than 12.00 hours the following Tuesday.
  • Comply with Health & Safety requirements, actively seek to improve safety culture and report any H&S issues/accidents/near misses to your line manager immediately.
  • Any other duties as required by line manager, commensurate with the post holder’s level of training and competence.

LGV Mechanic, Honiton

To further enhance our expanding Workshop services we are looking for a qualified and/or experienced LGV Mechanic.

Hours of work: 45 hours per week plus overtime/weekend work.

£10.55 - £14.50 per hour basic depending on work pattern. Overtime paid at time and a half. 

Aim of role:

  • To maintain the serviceability and operational effectiveness of company vehicles and trailers.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct vehicle and tanker trailer service and inspections in accordance with VOSA regulations.
  • Prepare and present Bale Group equipments for MOT.
  • Carry out daily and routine maintenance and repairs of all Bale Group equipments.
  • Attend to vehicle breakdowns when required.
  • Maintain a Safe Working Environment.

45 hours per week, 5 days from 7, plus evening & weekend overtime and occasional nights out

Wages: £9.00 per hour plus overtime/weekend enhancements and night out allowance of £22.00 per night

Principle Responsibilities

To drive and operate articulated tanker vehicles and plant to the greatest profitability, safety and efficiency according to instructions, having regard to safety of people, equipment, plant, vehicles, customers’ sites and disposal sites.

Key Job Elements

  • Carry out driving and other duties (during the course of which ensuring that):-
    • ISOs 9001, 14001 & 18001 are complied with
    • Work Instructions are adhered to
    • All H & S legislation requirements are met
    • Transport legislation requirements are met
  • To be courteous and professional at all times to customers, colleagues and general public
  • To ensure that daily duties are carried out in a safe, efficient and professional manner.
  • To ensure daily vehicle checks are undertaken (defect reports filled out), daily tachographs are completed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Report immediately to Transport Manager any issues that affect operations, observations/comments made by customers (negative and positive) that may improve efficiency or service.
  • Imperative to wear supplied uniform and PPE (if applicable) at all times.
  • Ensuring that vehicles and plant under the control of the operative are safe to use and operated in accordance with manufacturers/company procedures.
  • Ensuring that all paperwork issued to you is completed in full regarding work you have carried out with necessary signatures from both customer and disposal sites.

Health & Safety and Compliance

  • Ensuring full compliance with all health and safety legislation with regards to carrying out your normal day to day activities.
  • Complying with all company procedures, work instructions, risk assessments and method statements where appropriate.
  • Attend any Health and Safety training as directed.
  • Compliance with all legal requirements regarding hours, highways regulations, permits and legislation as indicated by Transport Manager.

Special Requirements

  • Collection of cash or cheques may be required from customer should special arrangements be made.  Cash or cheques must then be immediately passed to Transport Manager.
  • Report any accident affecting vehicles, equipment, self or third parties to Transport Office immediately. 

Essential Qualifications/Experience
